BJP continues its tirade against Priyanka, calls her 'part time' politician

During a rally in Rae Bareli on Friday, Priyanka had attacked Prime Minister Modi.

Escalating its attack on Priyanka Gandhi, who took potshots at Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a rally on Friday, the BJP on Saturday called the Gandhi scion a 'part time politician'.

Speaking to news agency ANI, BJP leader S Prakash said that Priyanka was unaware of the political developments and making 'irresponsible' statements. Prakash said her remarks should be 'ignored'.

Priyanka, in a rally in Rae Bareli on Friday, decided to attack Prime Minister Modi in her address.

"Does UP need an adopted son?" Priyanka asked. Her remark was clearly a reference to Modi's recent statement that he was the 'adopted son' of UP.

During her short speech at the rally, Priyanka said that the state did not need to adopt an 'outsider'.

"Krishna was born in Uttar Pradesh, but made Gujarat his karma bhoomi. I was born in Gujarat, but Uttar Pradesh has adopted me. It is a privilege for me. Uttar Pradesh is like mai-baap. I am not a son who would ditch his mai-baap. I will always care about Uttar Pradesh," Modi said at an election rally in UP's Hardoi recently.

"Despite being an adopted son, it is my duty to develop Uttar Pradesh," he added.

On Thursday, the Union textiles minister Smriti Irani had said that Priyanka is not campaigning in Amethi due to unfulfilled promises made by her party to the people.

"Priyanka wants to avoid people's questions," she had reportedly said.
