BJP's Sanjay Tandon Challenges Manish Tewari Over Constituency Switches

In a recent political discourse, Sanjay Tandon, the BJP's candidate for Chandigarh, directed a pointed question at Congress's Manish Tewari regarding his electoral plans for the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. Tandon highlighted Tewari's pattern of changing constituencies for each election, questioning the rationale behind these moves and speculating on his next choice. This inquiry underscores a broader critique of Tewari's claim to national leadership and his electoral strategy.

Tandon Questions Tewaris Seat Changes

Tandon also raised concerns about Tewari's engagement with constituencies he previously represented. Notably, Tewari served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ludhiana from 2009 to 2014 and was elected from Anandpur Sahib in 2019. The BJP candidate pointed out the absence of calls from these areas inviting Tewari to campaign, suggesting a possible disconnect with the regions he once represented.

Further, Tandon accused Tewari of lacking substantial achievements to present to his voters, alleging that this deficiency has led him to shift constituencies repeatedly over the last decade. This strategy, according to Tandon, is now being applied to the voters in Chandigarh as well.

Addressing local concerns, Tandon reaffirmed his commitment to resolving the issue of leasehold-to-freehold conversion for EWS flats in Dhanas Colony. He emphasized his dedication to improving housing for underprivileged citizens through the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana if elected. Moreover, he called upon the electorate of Chandigarh to participate actively in the upcoming elections, aiming for a historic voter turnout of 90 percent.

This exchange between Tandon and Tewari highlights the competitive dynamics of electoral politics in Chandigarh and raises questions about candidate selection and constituency representation. As the political landscape continues to evolve, the strategies and promises of candidates remain central to their appeal among voters.
