BJP's Arjun Singh Champions Inclusive Approach in Barrackpore Campaign
In a recent statement, BJP leader Arjun Singh, contesting from the Barrackpore Lok Sabha seat in West Bengal, strongly refuted claims of engaging in communal politics. Amidst the political fervor, Singh's comments come as a direct response to allegations made by the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) that the BJP is leveraging religion-based politics in its campaign. "We believe in taking along everyone without appeasement," Singh emphasized, questioning the criticism surrounding the discussion of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya as part of their election campaign.

Arjun Singh, who is aiming for re-election in the North 24 Parganas district, criticized West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC leader Mamata Banerjee for focusing on local issues and targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in what he described as a "brazen and unseemly" manner during her rallies. Despite these tactics, Singh remains confident that such strategies will not sway the electorate. He highlighted his outreach efforts to address significant issues like the Sandeshkhali incident and alleged widespread corruption under TMC's governance, believing these points will resonate with voters at the polls.
Addressing his competition, Singh dismissed any challenge from his TMC opponent and former colleague, Partha Bhowmick, stating, "His reach is very limited. I have no competition with him." Singh's confidence stems from his belief in having effectively addressed and worked on people's concerns during his tenure. "What does the public ask of a politician? They want their leader to listen to people’s issues and work for them," he stated, underscoring his commitment to public service beyond party lines.
Singh's assertions reflect a broader narrative within the BJP's campaign strategy, focusing on inclusive politics and development issues rather than religious polarization. His remarks aim to counteract opposition narratives and position himself as a candidate focused on governance and public welfare.
