BJP to Launch Membership Drive in Odisha, Targets 1 Crore Members
The ruling BJP in Odisha has set a goal to enrol one crore members, starting a membership drive from September 1. The campaign will accept new members through both offline and online methods. This decision was made during a state-level workshop attended by senior leaders, including Chief Minister Mohan Charan Mjahi, according to BJP state president Manmohan Samal.

Samal stated that the membership drive aims to strengthen the party at the grassroots level. Party workers will engage with people who support BJP's ideology and encourage them to join. The drive will cover all 36 organisational districts and 36,000 booths across Odisha.
Membership Drive Details
Workshops at the district level will be held from August 22 to 24, followed by block-level workshops between August 26 and 28. Booth-level workshops are scheduled to be completed by August 31. Samal mentioned that the detailed programme includes enrolling new members and renewing old memberships.
The campaign will focus on various demographics, including scheduled castes/tribes, women, youth, students, the poor, and the middle class. Young voters, especially those voting for the first time, will also be targeted. Priority will be given to beneficiaries of government schemes, school and college students, hostel residents, families of martyrs, and slum dwellers.
Engagement Strategies
To reach a wider audience, the membership drive will take place in malls, haat bazaars, railway stations, bus stands, and other public places. Small meetings, dramas, and events will be organised to encourage people to give a missed call to join the party.
"We will approach people who believe in the ideology of BJP and request them to become a member," Samal said. He added that the campaign would be intensified among different castes and communities across the state.
The main objective is to build relationships with people at the grassroots level and recruit new members. Party workers will visit homes and interact with potential members to achieve this goal.
The BJP's membership drive in Odisha is a significant effort to expand its base ahead of future elections. By targeting diverse groups and engaging with them directly, the party aims to strengthen its presence in the state.
