BJP and AAP Intensify Campaign Efforts Ahead of November 30 MCD Bypoll in Delhi

The BJP and AAP are intensifying their campaigns for the November 30 MCD bypolls in Delhi. The BJP highlights its development initiatives while AAP focuses on unfulfilled promises by its rivals. Key party leaders are mobilising support to ensure voter turnout.

The BJP and AAP have ramped up their campaigns for the upcoming bypolls on November 30 in 12 wards of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. The ruling BJP is highlighting its development initiatives, while the AAP is criticising the BJP for not fulfilling its promises. Both parties are actively engaging with voters to secure support.

Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva led a meeting to assess the party's readiness for the elections. The meeting included election coordinators, ministers, district unit presidents, parliamentarians, and legislators. B L Santhosh, the party's National General Secretary Organisation, instructed party workers to inform voters about the advantages of projects launched by Delhi's triple-engine government.

BJP's Campaign Strategy

During a meeting attended by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Santhosh emphasised the importance of ensuring voter turnout before lunch on election day. In the afternoon, a Tridev Sammelan was organised to support BJP candidate Rohini Raj from Dakshinpuri ward. CM Gupta also addressed a gathering in Dichaon Kalan ward under Najafgarh Assembly constituency, urging workers to strive for a decisive victory for Rekha Rani.

Gupta campaigned in Shalimar Bagh ward later that day. She highlighted that in just eight to nine months, the BJP government has steered Delhi towards development. Efforts have been made to reduce pollution and establish hospitals, schools, and colleges in rural areas of Delhi.

AAP's Criticism and Campaign

The Aam Aadmi Party has also intensified its campaign efforts. Delhi unit chief Saurabh Bharadwaj accused the BJP government of unchecked "goondagardi" in rural areas and unauthorised colonies. Speaking at a public meeting in Pochanpur village for AAP's Dwarka B ward candidate Rajbala Sehrawat, he alleged that the BJP files complaints and sends bulldozers themselves, then extorts large sums from residents.

Bharadwaj claimed that people expected the BJP to address their issues but have been disappointed by its inaction. The AAP is using these allegations to rally support among voters who feel let down by the current administration.

Election Meetings and Candidate Support

Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra spoke at an election meeting in Ashok Vihar. Meanwhile, party MP Bansuri Swaraj, MLA Shikha Roy, and former Speaker Adesh Gupta addressed supporters in Greater Kailash Ward. These meetings are part of a broader strategy to mobilise support across different wards.

A total of 51 candidates are contesting in these bypolls. Both parties are making concerted efforts to engage with voters and highlight their respective agendas as they vie for control over these crucial wards.

The outcome of these bypolls will be closely watched as both parties aim to strengthen their positions within the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. The results could influence future political dynamics in the city.
