Bill seeking death penalty for heinous crimes to be introduced in MP Assembly

Bhopal, Nov 2: A Public Safety Bill seeking death penalty to those committing heinous crime against children would be introduced in the winter session of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made this announcement in Bhopal late last night while addressing a state-level function of Madhya Pradesh foundation day.

"The state government will introduce Public Safety Bill in the upcoming assembly session to ensure capital punishment in cases of heinous crime against innocent children," Chouhan said.

He also alleged that confusion is being created over Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana (price deficit financing scheme), which seeks to compensate farmers when prices fall below the MSP.

"Those people would are trying to create confusion about Bhavantar Yojana will not succeed in their plan. The government would directly deposit the difference of modal selling rate and MSP in the bank accounts of farmers," he said.
