Bihar's Tableau To Be Centre Of Attraction On Kartavya Path
Since ancient times, Bihar has been a land of knowledge, salvation, and peace.
Through the tableau of Bihar, the ancient heritage of Nalanda, the efforts being made to preserve it, and the establishment of Nalanda University have been showcased.

This highlights the endeavour to re-establish Bihar on the global map as a centre of education.
Additionally, the tableau displays the divine and majestic statue of Lord Buddha alongside the innovative initiative to develop Ghora Katora Lake as an eco-tourism destination.
At the forefront of the tableau, the Bodhi Tree symbolises the message that the light of knowledge has spread to the entire world from this very land.
The tableau of Bihar portrays the rich tradition of knowledge and peace of the state. It features Lord Buddha, delivering the message of peace, through a divine representation.
This magnificent statue of Lord Buddha, located at the Ghora Katora reservoir in Rajgir, attracts millions of tourists every year.
This extraordinary and grand 70-feet tall statue, carved from a single stone and established in 2018, is part of the Bihar government's unique efforts to develop Ghora Katora Lake in the eco-tourism sector.
The tableau also depicts the ruins of the ancient Nalanda Mahavihara (University), which bear testimony to the fact that students from distant countries like China, Japan, and Central Asia once came here to acquire knowledge.
The ruins of Nalanda University stand as a symbol of ancient India's tradition of learning. Preserving and enhancing these ruins is crucial for safeguarding India's cultural heritage.
The efforts of the Bihar government are helping to restore the ancient glory of Nalanda. The tableau also artistically illustrates Bihar's ancient and rich heritage through mural paintings.
To re-establish ancient Nalanda as a centre of learning, the International Nalanda University has been established in Rajgir.
The newly constructed Nalanda University was inaugurated on 19 June 2024 by the Honourable Prime Minister of India in the presence of the Honourable Chief Minister of Bihar.
Based on the architecture of the ancient Nalanda University, this modern structure incorporates elements such as the Sariputra Stupa, Gopuram entrance gates, and the concept of traditional verandas.
Designed with environmental conservation in mind, these structures establish the university as a carbon-neutral and Net Zero campus.
