Bihar: RJD Leader Tejashwi Yadav Criticises State Govt Budget, Says 'Written With Ink Of Lies'

Rashtriya Janata Party leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav on Monday criticised Bihar government's budget announcement worth Rs Rs 3.17 lakh crore. Tejashwi Yadav questioned the feasibility of the budget, pointing out that revenue generation seemed inadequate to support such a large sum.

Tejashwi Yadav expressed his scepticism by stating, "Budget jhooth ki syaahi se likha hua hai..." (The budget is written with the ink of lies). He highlighted numerous issues to challenge the government, including the lack of stadiums built in any block over the past decade. Additionally, he raised concerns about frequent bridge collapses in Bihar.

Infrastructure and Development Concerns

Yadav criticised the current administration for focusing more on retaining power than addressing Bihar's needs. He emphasised that bridges and culverts frequently collapse, which reflects poorly on infrastructure management. As this budget precedes assembly elections, he remarked that those in power might not return.

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary presented the state budget, emphasising initiatives like establishing a cancer care society and opening a cancer hospital in Begusarai. This district has a high number of cancer patients, making it a priority for healthcare development.

Focus on Education and Health

The budget outlines significant allocations for various sectors: Rs 60,954 crore for education, Rs 20,335 crore for health, Rs 16,193 crore for rural development, and Rs 13,483 crore for energy during the financial years 2025 and 2026. These investments aim to bolster essential services across Bihar.

Choudhary stated that the budget aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's principle of 'sabka saath sabka vikas' and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's motto of 'nyay ke saath vikas'. The focus is on inclusive growth and justice-driven development.

The government plans to establish 'Mahila Haat' in Patna to empower women economically. Additionally, 'Kanya Vivaah Mandap' will be set up in all panchayats across the state to facilitate community events and marriages.

Tejashwi Yadav also reiterated his demands for providing 200 units of free electricity and Rs 2,500 monthly assistance for women under Mai Behan scheme. However, he lamented that these requests have been ignored by the current administration.
