Bihar Political Crisis: Here's What Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge Said
Almost after 24 hours of political turmoil in Bihar, Congress reacted for the first time to speculations that Nitish Kumar can switch sides. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge told the media that he has "no knowledge of JD(U) departing from the alliance." Congress stalwart added that Nitish Kumar has always strengthened the INDIA bloc and he doesn't think that any such move will take place.
"I don't have information on Janata Dal (United) leaving the alliance. I have written a letter to them. Tried to speak to them. But don't know what's on Nitish Kumar's mind," Mallikarjun Kharge said.

Nitish Kumar was seen as the Opposition's one of biggest faces for the Prime Ministerial post, and as a leader who can take Prime Minister Narendra Modi head to head.
Congress President added that he can shed light on hot discussions only after reaching Delhi and gathering more information about Bihar.
"Tomorrow I'll go to Delhi and take full information. Let's see what will happen. We don't have information that Nitish will resign. He hasn't told us about meeting the Governor," the Congress chief said.
"I don't have information so can't tell you authentic. Let's see what happens," Mallikarjun Kharge added.
According to reports, Nitish Kumar is likely to join hands with BJP and may take oath as Bihar Chief Minister for the 9th time on Sunday. The reports added that the political alliance (Mahagathbandhan) in Bihar is likely to end because of the RJD and JDU rift following large-scale transfers of officers including 22 IAS, 79 IPS, 45 Bihar Administrative Service (BAS) officers, 5 district magistrates (DMs) and 17 SPs.
