Bihar Man With Two Wives Strikes Unique Deal: Three Days Each, One Day Week Off

A man secretly entered into a second marriage without divorcing his first wife. When the truth was revealed, both wives insisted that he stay with them.

After a prolonged dispute, a unique arrangement was reached through police family counselling.

According to the agreement, the husband will spend first days a week with his first wife, the other three days with his second wife, and will have one day to decide where he wishes to stay. This unusual incident took place in Bihar.

The first wife, a resident of Rupauli, lodged a complaint with Purnia Police Superintendent Kartikey Sharma, alleging that her husband had abandoned her and their children without providing financial support.

She later discovered that he had secretly married another woman seven years ago without her knowledge.

When confronted, the husband admitted his wrongdoing and expressed his desire to return to his first wife and children.

However, his second wife opposed this, stating that she also had children with him and had threatened him whenever he attempted to leave.

Police officials warned the man that entering into a second marriage without divorcing the first is illegal and could lead to legal consequences.

The second wife was also criticised for marrying him despite knowing about his existing marriage.

Initially, an agreement was made for him to stay four days with his first wife and three with his second, but disagreements arose again.

Eventually, to prevent further conflict, the three-three day arrangement was finalised.

This unusual resolution was reached at Purnia's Family Counselling Centre, which settled 14 cases on the same day.
