Bihar: Nitish Kumar Takes Oath As CM For 9th Time, Check List Of Bihar Cabinet Ministers

In the presence of Bihar Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, JDU supremo Nitish Kumar took oath as Chief Minister of Bihar for the 9th time with support of the BJP. Earlier today, Nitish Kumar left RJD's Mahagathbandhan and handed over his resignation to the Governor.

After meeting the governor, he said, "I have resigned from the post of chief minister today. The new Grand Alliance that we created (in August 2022) is not in a good condition. The situation is not looking good."

BJP's Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha were sworn in as the Deputy Chief Ministers of Bihar. Along with the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Ministers, Dr Prem Kumar (BJP), Vijay Kumar Choudhary (JDU), Bijendra Prasad Yadav (JDU), Shravan Kumar (JDU), Santosh Kumar Suman (HAM) and Sumit Kumar Singh (Independent) took oath of the constitution to serve as ministers in the newly formed government.

The swearing-in ceremony in Patna was graced by BJP President JP Nadda, Chirag Paswan, and Ravi Shankar Prasad, and other dignitaries.

Newly formed Minister Prem Kumar said India is achieving new heights under PM Narendra Modi's leadership, and now Bihar will run on the path of progress.

After the swearing-in ceremony, Ravi Shankar Prasad told the media that the double-engine government will now take Bihar to new heights. Nitish Kumar was not happy with RJD's 'Jungle Raj, so he parted ways with the Mahagathbandhan.

Earlier today, reacting to Nitish Kumar's resignation, former Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav called the JDU supremo "a tired Chief Minister".

"It seems we made a tired CM (chief minister) work. The game is not over yet," said Tejashwi Yadav, the son of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Yadav.
