Bihar Elections 2025: FIR Lodged Against Prashant Kishor For MCC Breach In Raghopur

A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) during his election campaign in Raghopur, Vaishali district, ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. The complaint was lodged by the local district magistrate, citing that Kishor and his convoy entered the constituency without following proper election regulations.

The FIR also names the party's local block president and several unidentified individuals. The action follows a campaign event where Kishor addressed supporters publicly and engaged directly with them. Although Kishor's name was not included in the FIR initially, the Deputy Superintendent of Police stated that additional names, including Kishor, could be added after a thorough investigation.

Responding to the FIR, Kishor remained defiant, stating, "So many FIRs are pending against me. Let there be one more. If they stop me, I will stop."

This development comes as the Jan Suraaj Party ramps up its election campaign, with Kishor hinting at a possible direct electoral contest against RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav from his traditional seat in Raghopur. The Bihar Assembly elections are scheduled for November 6 and 11, 2025, with results expected on November 14, 2025.
