Bihar Elections 2025: Ex-JDU Leader RCP Singh Joins Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj Party
Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj Party is getting powerful day by day in Bihar. Ahead of the much-anticipated Bihar assembly elections slated to be held in next 7-8 months, former Union minister and ex-national president of the Janata Dal (United), RCP Singh has joined hands with Prashant Kishor. According to the reports, RCP Singh has merged his 'Aap Sabki Awaz' party in Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj party.
Prashant Kishor, welcoming RCP Singh into the fold of Jan Suraaj, expressed his respect for Singh, referring to him as an elder brother and lauding his deep understanding of Bihar's social and political environment. This merger is not just a blending of political entities but a union of shared visions for Bihar's development. Singh, echoing Kishor's sentiments, emphasized their collective goal to propel Bihar towards development, marking a pledge for collaborative efforts to achieve significant advancements for the state.

Before stepping into the political realm, Singh served as a distinguished Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, during which he held the prominent position of principal secretary to Bihar's Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar. His transition from a bureaucrat to a politician was marked by his voluntary retirement in 2010, followed by his induction into Kumar's JD(U), where he effectively served two terms in the Rajya Sabha. Singh's political journey took a twist in 2023 when he parted ways with Nitish Kumar and briefly aligned with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), before launching 'Aap Sabki Awaz' in November 2024.
The reactions to Singh's recent political maneuver have been mixed, with Tejashwi Yadav, a leader from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), commenting on the situation. Yadav pointed out the past affiliations of both Kishor and Singh with the JD(U), suggesting an awareness among the Bihar populace about the forces and motivations behind such political shifts. This observation underscores the intricate dynamics and alliances within Bihar's political landscape.
