Bihar Elections 2025: Chirag Paswan Slams Nitish Kumar Govt Over Rising Crime

As Bihar gears up for the crucial 2025 Assembly elections, Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president Chirag Paswan has launched a scathing attack on the Nitish Kumar-led state government, citing its failure to control the alarming rise in crime.

In a strongly worded statement, Chirag Paswan questioned the legitimacy of supporting an administration that, according to him, has "completely failed to ensure the safety of its people." His remarks come at a politically sensitive time, hinting at possible realignments and growing rifts within the ruling NDA alliance in Bihar.

"How can we stand by a government where murders, robberies, rapes, and kidnappings occur almost daily?" Paswan said. "The people of Bihar are living in fear. The law and order situation is deteriorating with each passing day, and the government appears either indifferent or incapable."

Chirag Paswan Targets Nitish Kumar Government

Paswan's criticism is seen as a direct message to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who has often faced backlash over rising crime but continues to defend his governance model. Paswan asserted that he is deeply disappointed with the state's inability to act despite repeated warnings and public outcry.

He accused the administration of either suppressing data or failing to grasp the seriousness of the issue, adding, "This is not the Bihar our people deserve. The government must wake up before it's too late."

Chirag Paswan 's Position Ahead of Elections

Chirag Paswan 's remarks are being seen as part of his strategic positioning ahead of the Bihar polls. While being a minister in the central government, his sharp tone signals potential cracks within the NDA framework in the state. It also reaffirms his party's commitment to raising people's issues, especially around public safety and governance.

Political observers believe Paswan is aiming to carve out an independent identity, distancing himself from the unpopular aspects of the state government while retaining his role in national politics.
