Bihar Election 2025: Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha’s Convoy Attacked in Lakhisarai

Lakhisarai, Bihar: The Bihar Assembly elections took a tense turn on Thursday as Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha's convoy came under attack in Lakhisarai district, underscoring the rising friction between rival political camps during polling.

Unidentified individuals hurled stones, slippers, and cow dung at Sinha's vehicle while he was visiting Khoriari village, where polling was underway. Visuals from the scene showed a large crowd surrounding the convoy, chanting slogans and preventing the BJP leader from entering the area.

Sinha, seeking a third consecutive term from the Lakhisarai seat, accused RJD supporters of orchestrating the attack to disrupt the voting process. "These are RJD's goons. They know the NDA is coming back to power, which is why they are resorting to such acts," he told reporters.

The Deputy CM also alleged irregularities at polling booths 404 and 405, claiming his party agent was not allowed to vote. He demanded deployment of central forces, calling the district police "weak and ineffective."

Local authorities, however, described the incident as a protest by villagers, maintaining that the situation was under control.

The clash in Lakhisarai comes amid a high-stakes election battle between the NDA and the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan, where both alliances are vying to consolidate their influence in central Bihar. As polling continues, the incident highlights the volatile atmosphere surrounding the campaign and the persistent challenge of ensuring peaceful, fair elections in the state.
