Bihar: Devendra Yadav, Munajir Hasan Resign From Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj's Party Core Committee
Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj Party is facing a hard time as two key members Devendra Yadav and Munajir Hasan, have stepped down from the core committee. The resignations come just months after the party's formation. Both leaders have not disclosed specific reasons for their decision but will continue as party members.
The Jan Suraaj Party was established on 2 October 2024. Despite its recent inception, it has struggled in elections. In the Bihar Legislative Assembly by-elections, the party faced significant losses across four seats. Additionally, they were defeated by independent candidate Vanshidhar Brajwasi in the Tirhut Graduate MLC by-election.

Resignations Amidst Upcoming Elections
With Bihar assembly elections approaching next year, these resignations are a setback for Prashant Kishor's party. Devendra Yadav and Munajir Hasanhave sent their resignation letters to Manoj Bharti, the working president of Jan Suraj. A copy was also forwarded to Prashant Kishor himself.
Devendra Yadav cited "unavoidable reasons" for his resignation from the core committee. He has a notable political background, having served as an MP from Jhanjharpur five times and as a minister at the Centre. He joined Jan Suraj in August 2024.
Monajir Hasan's Continued Commitment
Munajir Hasan, a former MP from Begusarai and a significant Muslim representative within Jan Suraaj, did not specify his reasons for leaving the core committee in his resignation letter. However, he expressed his intention to remain active as a party worker.
The recent developments highlight internal challenges within Jan Suraaj as it prepares for future electoral battles.
