Tejashwi Yadav Critiques Bihar Budget as Inflated and Deceptive Ahead of Elections

Tejashwi Yadav, a leader from the RJD, criticised the Bihar budget presented by the Nitish Kumar government. He claimed it was exaggerated and filled with falsehoods. Speaking to reporters outside the Vidhan Sabha, Yadav expressed his belief that the NDA would lose power in the upcoming elections.

Tejashwi Yadav Critiques Bihar Budget

Yadav questioned how the budget could grow without revenue generation. He described the Rs 3.71 lakh-crore figure as inflated. "The budget papers seem to have been written with ink dipped in lies. They could have made it Rs 5 lakh-crore," he remarked, drawing on his experience as a former deputy CM.

Budget Criticism and Political Predictions

The RJD leader saw the budget as a missed chance for the BJP-led NDA to benefit the public. He mentioned their failure to introduce measures like a Rs 2,500 monthly stipend for women and 200 units of free electricity. Yadav promised these benefits if his party forms the next government.

Yadav also commented on Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's behaviour in the House. Kumar had praised Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary for presenting the budget. "It is his style. Whenever he is with leaders much younger than himself, Nitish ji says in a self-effacing manner - the future belongs to you," Yadav noted.

Political Dynamics and Future Promises

Yadav recalled how Kumar once called him his successor before realigning with the BJP, which led to Yadav losing power. This history adds context to Yadav's scepticism about Kumar's gestures of appreciation towards younger leaders like Choudhary.

The RJD leader's comments highlight ongoing political tensions in Bihar. As elections approach, parties are positioning themselves with promises and critiques of current governance. The opposition aims to capitalise on perceived shortcomings of the ruling coalition.

Yadav's remarks reflect broader dissatisfaction with current policies and governance in Bihar. His statements suggest a strategic focus on social welfare measures to gain voter support in future elections.
