Bihar BJP Agent Raises Concerns Over Duplicate Voters in Darbhanga District

Laxman Kumar, representing the Darbhanga assembly segment, reported this issue to the district magistrate-cum-district election officer. He highlighted 655 individuals whose names appear multiple times on the voters' list.

Despite these claims, the Election Commission has stated that no political parties have reported any wrongful deletions or inclusions in the draft electoral rolls released earlier this month. Kumar, however, insists that officials should ensure these names are listed only once. He mentioned that while a conspiracy cannot be ruled out, it might simply be an oversight.

Duplicate Voter Concerns in Darbhanga

The BJP's stronghold in Darbhanga is represented by state minister Sanjay Saraogi, who is serving his fourth consecutive term. However, recent elections have seen him face significant challenges from the RJD. The RJD is often considered the preferred party among minorities in Bihar.

Kumar's letter to the authorities was dated August 10 and included a copy of his findings. He expressed his concerns to reporters and displayed evidence of his claims. The situation highlights ongoing electoral challenges in the region.

Darbhanga's political landscape remains competitive, with both BJP and RJD vying for dominance. The issue of duplicate voters adds another layer of complexity to the electoral process in this region.
