Bihar: 1 dead, 6 ill after taking polio drops
Patna, June 27: One child died and six others reportedly fell ill after they were administered polio drops. The incident occurred in Shahpur village near Hajipur, district headquarters of Vaishali on Friday.
Officials have launched a probe into the incident. Officials said that the children developed fever and suffered from vomiting and diarrhoea after they were administered the polio vaccine.

Bihar has remained polio-free for over four years, thanks to the state government's commitment supported by development partners in the polio eradication programme.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) declared India polio-free in 2014 after no case was detected in the country since 2011.
