Bigg Boss Marathi Host Riteish Deshmukh Reacts On Badlapur Sexual Assault Incident, Says "Raging With Anger"

Actor and Bigg Boss Marathi season 5 host, Riteish Deshmukh, voiced his outrage on Wednesday over a brutal sexual assault incident involving two kindergarten girls in Badlapur, Maharashtra. As a parent, he expressed his anger on X (formerly Twitter), stating, "As a parent am absolutely disgusted, pained and raging with anger!! Two 4 year old girls were sexually assaulted by the male cleaning staff member of the school. Schools are supposed to be as safe a place for kids as their own homes. Harshest punishment needs to be given to this demon. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in his times gave the guilty what they deserved - Chaurang- we need these laws back in action."

The incident has sparked significant protests and public outrage across Maharashtra. This follows closely after the tragic rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Hospital. The public's reaction led to police intervention and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis ordering the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT). This team will be headed by a woman IPS officer.

Special Investigation Team Formed

In response to the outcry, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has mandated the creation of an SIT to investigate the case thoroughly. Additionally, he has instructed the police to propose setting up a fast-track court for swift justice. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has also stepped in, demanding a detailed report from Maharashtra authorities within two weeks.

The NHRC's directive includes notices sent to both the Chief Secretary and the Director General of Police of Maharashtra. They are required to explain why there was reportedly a "12-hour delay" in registering the First Information Report (FIR) after parents initially lodged their complaint with local police.

Public Outrage and Protests

The news of this heinous crime has led to widespread protests throughout Maharashtra. Citizens are demanding stricter laws and harsher punishments for such offenders. The involvement of high-ranking officials like Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis underscores the gravity of this situation.

Riteish Deshmukh's comments reflect a broader societal concern about children's safety in schools. His call for severe punishment echoes public sentiment, urging authorities to take immediate and stringent action against those responsible.

In terms of his professional life, Riteish Deshmukh was last seen in "Kakuda," directed by Aditya Sarpotdar. The film also features Sonakshi Sinha and Saqib Saleem.
