(Video) Bhopal: Jilted lover shoots bride at wedding venue

, May 9: A happy moment turned sour when a jilted lover shot a woman in front of her groom, just before their marriage. The accused who shot the bride at a point blank range said that the girl had cheated him.

Dr Jaishri Namdeo was accepting the wishes of her relatives and friends on stage when the accused Anurag Singh walked upto her and shot her at a point blank range yesterday. She was hit in the neck and was later declared brought dead by the hospital.

The wedding was at the Lalghati area of the city. While she was a pediatrician, her would be husband, Rohit Namdeo, is a surgeon. The bride's relatives caught hold of the shooter and thrashed him before handing him over to the police. Unconfirmed reports suggest that they may have studied together in the past.
