Bhopal Horror: Two Minors Chop Off Student’s Fingers in Snooker Club Assault: 27 Stabs in 30 Seconds

That's all it took for a Class 10 student's life to change forever inside a snooker club in Bhopal.

According to police, two minors cornered the student late at night and unleashed a frenzied knife attack - stabbing him 27 times with a knife and a dagger. By the time the assault ended, two of his fingers had been chopped off, his hands were shredded with deep cuts, and his shoulder and back were soaked in blood.

A video of the attack, now circulating on social media, allegedly captures the entire sequence - a blur of violence that investigators say is forcing them to rethink the charges in the case.

A Small Argument, a Savage Revenge

The roots of the attack trace back to a minor quarrel at a coaching institute days earlier. The victim told police the argument was over a trivial issue, during which he had slapped the two minors.

That slap, he claims, became a death warrant.

"They threatened me first," the student said. "Later, they came to the snooker club and attacked me without even talking."

No warning. No argument. Just blades.

Bleeding, But Alive

Despite the brutal injuries - over ten deep cuts on one wrist alone - the student somehow managed to escape the club. Bleeding heavily, he reached a hospital and informed the police.

Doctors confirmed the severity of the wounds: amputated fingers, deep stab injuries, and damage that will take months - if not years - to heal.

Video Changes Everything

Police initially registered a case of voluntarily causing hurt based on the student's complaint. But everything changed after the attack video surfaced online on Monday, allegedly shared by the accused themselves.

Investigators are now examining whether stronger sections should be applied. HT has not independently verified the video.

The victim has accused police of responding weakly at first, claiming the minors were detained briefly and released after being served notices. He also alleged the accused circulated CCTV footage online to spread fear.

The Bhopal attack comes amid a worrying spate of violent incidents involving juveniles across the country, raising uncomfortable questions about rising brutality among young offenders - and whether the system is equipped to deal with it.

For now, the investigation continues.
