Bhojpuri Star Pawan Singh To Contest Bihar Assembly Elections 2025
Bhojpuri actor and singer Pawan Singh announced on Wednesday that he will contest the Bihar Assembly elections in 2025. Addressing media in Jamshedpur, Pawan Singh said just link Lok Sabha elections 2024, he is planning to contest Bihar polls.
When asked whether he will bat for BJP, Pawan Singh added that only time will reveal his decision, as he cannot confirm anything at present.

Pawan Singh's wife, Jyoti Singh, had also recently declared her candidacy for the Rohtas constituency. The Bihar Assembly elections are anticipated to occur in October-November this year. In May 2024, Singh was expelled from the BJP for running independently in the Karakat Lok Sabha constituency, opposing the party's official candidate from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Pawan Singh's Expulsion from BJP
The Bihar BJP issued a letter to Singh explaining his expulsion due to his independent candidacy against the NDA's official candidate. The letter stated, "You are contesting the Lok Sabha elections against the official candidate of the NDA. This act of yours is against the party, which has tarnished the party's image and violated party discipline. Therefore, as per the orders of the Honorable State President, you are expelled from the party for this anti-party activity."
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and state BJP president Samrat Choudhary commented on this decision by saying that such actions are expected when someone contests against their own party. He emphasised that these measures are taken at a party level to maintain discipline.
