Bhojpuri film director arrested for 'raping' Pak actress

Thane, Feb 20: A Bhojpuri filmmaker has been arrested here for allegedly raping and cheating a Pakistani actress. Two associates of the directors were also arrested for abeting the crime, said deputy superintendent of police (Mira Road division) S P Bavche.

The 30-year-old actress knew the accused from the past three years, he said. The director raped her on several occasions promising her film roles and also took Rs 35.80 lakh from her for producing a film and didn't return it, she said in her complaint to the police.

She filed the complaint last evening following which the director was arrested. The other two were arrested today. The police did not reveal the names of the accused.
