Bhind To Make World Record With 'World's Biggest Rakhi'

In a bid to etch its name in the Guinness World Records, the Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh is all set to create the world's largest rakhi. The initiative is being led by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ashok Bhardwaj, who has commissioned a specialised agency to undertake the task.

More than 10 skilled craftsmen are working on the monumental rakhi, which will be made using materials such as cloth, cardboard, thermocol sheets, and wood. The central piece of the rakhi, typically circular, will have a diameter of 25 feet. Additionally, two decorative balls, each measuring 15 feet, will be attached.

The project is expected to be completed by Wednesday, and officials from the Guinness World Records are scheduled to visit Bhind on Thursday to evaluate it. If the rakhi meets the required criteria, it will be officially declared the world's largest.

Bhardwaj told Live Hindustan that he was inspired to undertake the project by BJP workers, who suggested that he surpass the existing record for the world's largest rakhi. He said that he is confident that the rakhi will be a success and that it will help to promote the district of Bhind.

The rakhi is being made as part of the festive spirit of Raksha Bandhan, which is celebrated on Wednesday. The festival marks the bond between brothers and sisters, and the rakhi is a symbol of this bond.

Bhardwaj said that he hopes that the rakhi will help to strengthen the bond between brothers and sisters in Bhind and across the world. He also said that he hopes that the rakhi will help to promote the culture and heritage of Madhya Pradesh.
