Who Is Bhajan Lal Sharma? BJP's Pick For Rajasthan CM

Bhajan Lal Sharma: After Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh CM announcements, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) continues to give shockers as they named a first-time elected member of the legislative assembly, Bhajan Lal Sharma as the new Chief Minister for Rajasthan. Sharma's name was picked as CM after a meeting with newly elected MLAs, headed by Union Minister Rajnath Singh, who acted as observer for the state.

In his address, Rajantha Singh said Bhajan Lal Sharma's name was proposed by former CM and party vice-president Vasundhra Raje and the proposal has been accepted unanimously.

The 56-year-old represents the Brahmin community in the state and has been associated with the Sangh Parivar (RSS). Sharma defeated Congress candidate Pushpendra Bhardwaj with a margin of 48,081 votes in the Sanganer constituency in the Rajasthan Assembly Election 2023.

Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma, a party worker, has been associated with the party for a very long and is also an active member of the RSS. He has served as the State General Secretary for the Bharatiya Janata Party four times showcasing exceptional organizational capabilities and leadership prowess within the party. And now, BJP's top leadership has given him a new role to play.

At 56 years old, Bhajan Lal Sharma holds a postgraduate degree, underscoring his dedication to education. His total declared assets amount to Rs 1.5 crore, comprising Rs 43.6 lakh in movable assets and Rs 1 crore in immovable assets. Maintaining financial transparency, he declares a total income of Rs 11.1 lakh, including Rs 6.9 lakh as self-income.

It must be noted Bhajan Lal Sharma holds an untarnished record, devoid of any criminal cases registered against him.
