Bengaluru: Was thrashed, asked to lick boots: NE Student alleges
A student from Arunachal Pradesh alleged that he was thrashed and humiliated by his landlord in Bengaluru. Higio Guntey, son of an executive assistant commissioner in Arunachal Pradesh was allegedly thrashed last week by the landlord identified as Hemanth Kumar who also humiliated him by asking him to lick and kiss his shoes.
Members of the north-eastern student association in Bengaluru who helped Guntey get medical help after the incident have sought legal suggestion from advocates following which they are likely to meet the Commissioner of police. "The landlord verbally abused me for using extra water on Monday evening. Two hours later, he banged on my door and was in an inebriated state. He started thrashing me black and blue for almost an hour. He forced me to lick his shoes. I was in physical pain and could not fight back. It was humiliating," said Guntey, student of a private university on Hosur road.
He also alleged that he was asked to leave the house and his things were thrown down from the third floor. Police, however, believe that the fight was not racial in nature but broke out over a trivial issue.
