Bengaluru, June 1: Bengaluru has recorded 442.6 mm pre-monsoon rainfall this year, highest in the past 10 years, the Met Office said on Monday.

Even though the southwest monsoon is yet to hit the Kerala coast, Karnataka's southern region, especially Bengaluru, has been blessed with bountiful pre-monsoon showers.

With many roads flooded, the early rains have exposed the poor civic infrastructure here. Many trees were uprooted and branches broken in the city due to squall.

Wind speeds reached 76 kmph at Yelahanka and 54 kmph in the main city.

The intermittent rains brought the traffic to a halt and snapped power supply in some areas.

However, Gulbarga and Raichur districts recorded high temperatures of 41.8 and 42.4 degrees Celsius on Sunday.
