Bengaluru pre-school horror: More stories of sexual abuse surface

Following the arrests of the prime accused the principal and the general manager of the pre-school, more parents have now come forward to register complaints

Four days after the staff of a pre-school in Bengaluru was arrested for sexually assaulting a three-year-old child, more parents have come forward to register cases against the accused. Six more FIRs were filed against accused Manjunath, who is a supervisor in the school for allegedly sexually harassing children no older than five years. Parents of six more children from the same pre-school alleged that he was a habitual offender. Cases under various sections of the POCSO act have been registered.

Allegations are also being levelled against the school authorities for refusing to take any action against the alleged paedophile. The school was shut on Tuesday following protests by parents and remains shut. Manjunath was arrested on Monday. Cases were also registered against the school's management and the principal was taken into custody.

Aggrieved parents met the Commissioner of Police, Praveen Sood, on Wednesday to voice their concerns. Praveen Sood took to his Twitter page to convey his assurances to the concerned parents. "Met aggrieved parents. Assured them of stringent action against guilty. Will facilitate a speedy investigation and even trial," he said.

He also added that the Education department had been activated to take further action. "Have instructed police to take stringent action against accused as well as management, administrators," he added.
