Bengaluru: IBM techie found dead inside her apartment
Bengaluru, Jan 21: A 31-year-old IBM techie, Kusum Rani Singla was found murdered inside her apartment at Kadugodi in southeast Bengaluru, on Tuesday, Jan 19 night.
As per a report published in TOI, Kusum hailed from Punjab and she took transfer from IBM Noida and shifted to Bengaluru, six months ago.
She was a divorcee and was reportedly looking forward for a second marriage, as she had her profile on matrimony site. Kusum was staying with a flatmate Nidhi, at the fourth floor of Mahaveer Kings apartment in Kadugodi.
On Tuesday evening around 7.30 pm, when Nidhi returned from office, she found Kusum, lying in a pool of blood, after which she immediately informed police.
Police suspect that Kusum was strangulated in afternoon and she was also attacked with a sharp object as blood was oozing out from her mouth and nose. On the same day, she was working from home.
As per the initial investigation, police has got one clue that a man had come to Kusum's apartment on Tuesday afternoon, around 12.30 pm and he left around 3.30 pm. Although, nothing seems to have been stolen from her flat.
It seems that man was known to Kusum, as she herself had entered his name in the entry register.
Kusum's body has been sent for post-mortem to ascertain the cause of death. The CCTV footage of the apartment was also not clear.
Meanwhile, Kusum's family members are on the way to reach Bengaluru. Police has claimed that they will crack the case soon, as the person who entered the apartment has emerged as the prime suspect.
Kusum had also lent Rs 5 lakh to a man, whom she had met on a matrimonial site. But the man later refused to pay back her money, after which Kusum had filed a police complaint against him in Dec 2015.
Police is also trying to find whether the man who visited her on Tuesday, was the same man or not. Her flatmate described Kusum as an introvert person.
