Bengaluru: Another ATM driver flees with cash

The driver has been identified as Sibbin Hussain, 26, a native of Assam. He was working with Secure Value India, a company responsible for transportation of cash for various ATMs.

Bengaluru, Dec 18: A driver attached to a private firm depositing money in ATMs fled with the van containing Rs 20 lakh cash on Saturday at Bengaluru's Wind Tunnel Road. This is the second such incident reported from the city in the past one month.

While the police have managed to recover the van and the missing cash, the driver however is absconding. A special team has been formed to track the driver.

The driver has been identified as Sibbin Hussain, 26, a native of Assam. He was working with Secure Value India, a company responsible for transportation of cash for various ATMs.

Police say that the ATM van filled with Rs 52 lakh left Madiwala at around 2 pm on Saturday. Rs 2 lakh was deposited in one ATM in Koramangala following which the van headed towards the Wind Tunnel Road. It is here that the driver decided to flee with the cash laden van.

On November 23 a driver of a vehicle carrying cash worth Rs. 1.37 crore to a Bank of India ATM on KG Road fled with the money. The driver was however nabbed a few days later.
