The governor also voiced concerns about a segment of the Kolkata Police. He remarked, "I have also earlier stated, that a part of the... I won't say fully, a part of the Kolkata Police is criminalist, a part is politicised, a part is corrupt. This is my observation." Despite these criticisms, Bose acknowledged that not all police personnel are at fault.

He emphasised the importance of recognising issues within the police force without demoralising it entirely. Bose stated his intention to address these problems directly and transparently as part of his gubernatorial duties.
