'Being threatened by goons' alleges Jayalalithaa's niece Deepa
In an unexpected move, Deepa Jayakumar paid homage at Jayalalithaa's memorial at the Marina Beach here at around 10 PM and sat there in meditation for some time.
Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa's niece, Deepa Jayakumar, did a Panneerselvam on Sunday evening when she meditated at Jayalalithaa memorial. Speaking to the media after the 'meditation', Deepa alleged that she was being harassed and threatened in various ways since the day she announced her entry into politics.

"Several conspiracies are being hatched against me to stop me from contesting the R K Nagar by-poll. Right from the day I announced that I would contest the by-poll, I am being threatened by goons. I do not know who they are but they are being sent even to my residence," Deepa claimed.
Deepa Jayakumar reiterated how she was kept away from meeting Jayalalithaa when she was being treated at Apollo and consequently from all funeral rituals. Deepa alleged that she was being harassed after she announced that she would contest the by-poll in R K Nagar scheduled for April 12. the seat fell vacant after Jayalalithaa's demise.

It may be recalled that Jayalalithaa's aide and confidante, O Panneerselvam had also meditated at Jayalalithaa memorial on February 7 after which he revolted against Sasikala Natarajan.
