Before Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan to join politics?
If reports are to be believed, Tamil actor Kamal Haasan is likely to join politics soon.
Chennai, July 21: Tamil Nadu is in mood for some "filmi politics", literally. Probably that is why everyone is talking about the political debut of two of the biggest stars of Tamil cinema.
The rumour of Rajinikanth joining politics has been doing the rounds immediately after the death of former chief minister of Tamil Nadu, J Jayalalithaa, in December last year.

Now, the rumour mill is going overdrive to suggest that Rajinikanth's colleague and friend from the film industry, Kamal Haasan, is also planning to take his political plunge.
Of late, Kamal has been openly expressing his views about various political issues plaguing the state. A recent tweet by the actor-director gave clear indication that it is time for him to join politics. However, Kamal, like Rajinikanth, did not make any formal announcement in this regard.
"Let's proclaim aloud none is a king anymore, let's rise at heart that we are no king like you, one who dies defeated is a militant, one taking decision a chief minister, those who fall in line slaves? No path is visible unless searched," this cryptic tweet by the actor led to the prediction that he is interested in joining politics.
Moreover, he recently tweeted and asked his fans to lodge complaint against any corruption they notice in the current state government under CM E Palaniswami.
The report of Kamal agreeing to attend the platinum anniversary celebrations of Murasoli, a Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) mouthpiece, has given credence to the rumour of the actor joining politics.

But Rajinikanth is yet to accept the invitation to attend Murasoli daily's anniversary celebrations.
The anniversary celebrations for the daily will be held over two days. Kamal will attend the event on August 10, while DMK cadres will take part in celebrations on August 11.
In reply to the corruption charges against his government by Kamal, Tamil Nadu CM said, "He is into acting... does not know about politics. After he comes to politics and says (such) things, we will give him a proper respone."
The residents of the southern state are eagerly waiting to witness the entry of two superstars into politics. Till, Kamal and Rajinikanth make their political plunge, everyone is keeping their fingers crossed.
