The Delhi Police has announced elaborate traffic arrangements for the Beating Retreat ceremony on 26th January 2023. Several roads around Vijay Chowk will be closed from 2 pm to 9.30 pm, and commuters are advised to take alternate routes.

The Delhi Police have announced extensive traffic arrangements for the Beating Retreat ceremony, scheduled to take place at Vijay Chowk on Monday, January 26. This ceremony signifies the formal conclusion of the Republic Day celebrations.

Traffic Restrictions and Diversions

According to an advisory issued by the police, traffic restrictions will be implemented from 2 pm to 9.30 pm on Monday. Vijay Chowk, the central point of the ceremony, will be entirely closed to traffic during this period.

Several key roads in the vicinity of Vijay Chowk will be affected by the traffic restrictions. These include Rafi Marg (between Sunehri Masjid roundabout and Krishi Bhawan roundabout), Raisina Road (from Krishi Bhawan roundabout towards Vijay Chowk, beyond Dara Shikoh roundabout), Krishna Menon Marg roundabout, and Sunehri Masjid towards Vijay Chowk.

Additionally, traffic will be restricted on Kartavya Path between Vijay Chowk and C hexagon.

Commuters are advised to use alternative routes during this period, such as Ring Road, Ridge Road, Aurobindo Marg, Madrasa T-Point, Lodhi Road, Safdarjung Road, Kamal Ataturk Marg, Rani Jhansi Road, and Minto Road.

Bus Diversions

To facilitate the movement of invitees and spectators and to minimize traffic congestion around the ceremony venues and India Gate, buses will be diverted from their regular routes from 2 pm to 9.30 pm on Monday.

Parking Arrangements

For those wishing to witness the illumination at Vijay Chowk, parking will be available between Rafi Marg and C Hexagon after 7 pm.

The Delhi Police urge the general public and motorists to exercise patience, adhere to traffic rules and road discipline, and follow the directions of traffic personnel deployed at all intersections.
