New Delhi, Nov 5: The Samajwadi Party will take a shot at forming a Grand Alliance today as it celebrates its silver jubilee today.
All eyes are on the gala event to be held today in Uttar Pradeshand what would be keenly watched is the guest list. Battling infighting in the party, the Samajwadi Party will look to rope in as many parties as possible to be part of its grand alliance.
The regional satraps of the erstwhile Janata Parivar will share the dais at the Janeshwar Mishra Park today. The likes of Deve Gowda, Lalu Prasad Yadav and Sharad Yadav are expected to be on stage today.
While Mulayam may just manage to stitch up an alliance, he would also not want any kind of showdown between his brother, Shivpal and son Akhilesh. He even drove down on Friday to the house of Shivpal to ensure that there is no chaos at today's function.
