Baru's 'real intention' will be exposed soon: Chandy
Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 16: Senior Congress leader and Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today dismissed the allegations levelled against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh by his former media adviser Sanjaya Baru as "baseless" saying his "real intention" would be exposed in the coming days.
"The allegations levelled against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and AICC chief Sonia Gandhi in the book 'The Accidental Prime Minister: The Making and Unmaking of Manmohan Singh', were totally baseless. The allegations against Union ministers from Kerala A K Antony and Vayalar Ravi in the book were also rubbish," Chandy told reporters here during cabinet briefing.
"Manmohan Singh's tenure as Prime Minsiter was a "golden period" for Kerala"
"Manmohan Singh is one of the most honourable and dignified politicians in the country. Though he has come from an entirely different field, he could establish himself as a popular politician. The real intention of Baru will be exposed in the coming days," he said.
On allegations that A K Antony and Vayalar Ravi were critical against Singh during party meetings, Chandy said "everyone has the right to criticise or raise his opinion within a democratic framework". He said Manmohan Singh's tenure as Prime Minsiter was a "golden period" for Kerala in particular.
Chandy said only because of the intervention of Singh that Malayalam had received the classical language tag, though it was earlier denied the status by an expert panel.
