Banks To Remain Closed For 16 Days In September, Check Full List
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the calendar of bank holidays for September 2023, which includes a total of 16 holidays, both national and regional. The upcoming month will witness several states observing closures on occasions such as Ganesh Chaturthi, Sri Krishna Janmashtami, Maharaja Hari Singh Ji's anniversary, and Eid-i-Milad-ul-Nabi.
Individuals intending to visit banks for critical matters are advised to take note of these designated holidays. However, ATMs and online banking services will be available.

On September 18, banks will remain closed due to the Varsiddhi Vinayak Vrata and Vinayaka Chaturthi celebrations. Moreover, September 22 will mark the observance of Shree Narayana Guru Samadhi Day, leading to bank closures in specific cities.
Bank patrons should also be aware that these holidays are generally classified into three categories: Holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Holidays under the Negotiable Instrument Act and Real Time Gross Settlement Holidays, and Banks' Closing of Accounts.
Bank holidays in India encompass mandatory holidays mandated by the banking sector, in addition to extra holidays for festivals and special occasions authorized by different states.
