Bank Holidays On Raksha Bandhan 2024: Will bank Be Closed On Rakhi?
Banks in several cities will be closed on Monday, August 19, in observance of Raksha Bandhan. This festival, celebrated across the country, honors the special bond between siblings, where sisters apply tilak on their brothers' foreheads and tie a sacred thread, known as Rakhi, on their wrists.
Both public and private sector banks will be closed in cities that observe this holiday, according to the annual bank holiday calendar released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

However, while physical bank branches will be closed on Monday, digital banking services such as internet banking, mobile banking, WhatsApp banking, NEFT, and RTGS will remain operational.
The RBI's holiday list varies by state, so customers are advised to check the specific holiday schedule before planning a visit to their bank branch.
