Bank Holidays In March 2025: 8 Days Of Closures, Including Holi—Find Out When Your Bank Will Be Closed

Banks across India will remain closed for eight days in March, counting from tomorrow, due to national and regional holidays. Customers are advised to plan their banking activities in advance, as March is the final month of the financial year. The upcoming holidays will also include long weekends for bank employees, particularly during the Holi and Ramzan festivals, as per an NDTV report.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) releases an annual list of bank holidays, which includes weekends and special observances. These holidays vary from state to state, depending on local festivals and celebrations.

Banks Will Be Closed

Here is the list of dates when banks will remain closed in March 2025:

  • March 15 (Saturday) - Holi (banks closed in Agartala, Bhubaneswar, Imphal, and Patna).
  • March 16 (Sunday) - Weekly holiday.
  • March 22 (Saturday) - Fourth Saturday and Bihar Diwas (banks closed in Bihar).
  • March 23 (Sunday) - Weekly holiday.
  • March 27 (Thursday) - Shab-e-Qadr (banks closed in Jammu).
  • March 28 (Friday) - Jumat-ul-Vida (banks closed in Jammu and Kashmir).
  • March 30 (Sunday) - Weekly holiday.
  • March 31 (Monday) - Ramzan-Id (Eid-Ul-Fitr) and Khutub-E-Ramzan (public holiday in most states, except Mizoram and Himachal Pradesh).

According to the holiday list of the State Bank of India (SBI), the following additional holidays will be observed:

  • March 15 (Saturday) - Holi (banks closed in Bhubaneswar and Patna circles).
  • March 22 (Saturday) - Bihar Diwas (banks closed in Patna circle).
  • March 30 (Sunday) - Chetichand/Ugadi/Gudi Padwa/Telugu New Year's Day (banks closed in Ahmedabad, Amaravati, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Maharashtra circles).
  • March 31 (Monday) - Ramzan-Id (Eid-Ul-Fitr) and Khutub-E-Ramzan (banks closed across all regions and circles).

Customers are advised to check with their respective banks for any additional holiday schedules and make necessary arrangements to avoid inconvenience.
