Bank Holiday On Feb 12: Know Why Government Has Decided To Close Banks
Many bank customers are confused whether banks will be open on February 12 for Ravidas Jayanti or Not? To clarify, we checked the Reserve Bank of India's guidelines and holiday list. It indicates a public holiday for Ravidas Jayanti in North India. This day honours Saint Guru Ravidas ji's teachings and societal contributions.
Banks in several North Indian states, including Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, and Haryana, will be closed for this occasion. People are advised to plan their banking activities either before or after this date due to the closure.

February 2025 Bank Holidays
On Wednesday, February 12, banks in Shimla will not operate due to Sant Ravidas Jayanti. Additionally, Imphal banks will close on Saturday, February 15, for Loi-Ngai-Ni. These closures are part of the scheduled holidays for February 2025.
Further closures include Wednesday, February 19, when banks in Belapur, Mumbai, and Nagpur will shut down for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti. On Thursday, February 20, Aizawl and Itanagar banks will observe State Day by remaining closed.
Mahashivratri Observance
On Wednesday, February 26, Mahashivratri will lead to bank closures in multiple cities such as Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bengaluru, Belapur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla, Srinagar and Thiruvananthapuram.
The weekend holidays include Sunday on February 16 as a regular weekly break. Additionally, both Saturday and Sunday on February 22 and 23 mark the fourth Saturday and weekly holiday respectively.
