Bank Holiday On Ambedkar Jayanti: Will Banks Open On April 14?
On the occasion of Dr BR Amberdkar's Birth anniversary, bank in India will remain closed on April 14, Monday. Dr BR Ambedkar, also known as the father of constitution, played a major role in India's freedom struggle and also set a roadmap for collective progress. Dr BR Ambedkar brought social justice, equality, and the upliftment of marginalized communities in focus.
According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) official holidays list, April 14 is marked as a gazetted holiday, which means all government undertaking banks, commercial banks, private sector banks, Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFC) will not operate on this day.

All offline services will not be operational, however, bank customers can continue making online transactions as regular.
It is advised to plan all banking activities as per the Bank holiday list as some offline transactions, including withdrawals and deposits, will not be available.
Some banks might open on Ambedkar Jayanti to pay homage to Baba Sahib, through cultural functions and ceremonies nationwide, however, no banking activity will take place. Day reminds us Dr. Ambedkar's teachings and contribution that empowered every citizen of this country. Along with banks, government offices and educational institutions will also be closed in Dr BR Ambedkar's honor.
