Bank guard looted of Rs 10.83 lakh in UP

Muzaffarnagar, Sept 14: A security guard of a private bank was on Monday allegedly robbed off Rs 10,83,625 by six bike-borne men while he was carrying the cash to the bank in Khatoli town of the district, police said.

The incident occurred this morning when guard Surendra Kumar went to the Roadways office here to collect the payment.

As he left the office, six men on two motorcycles came and snatched the bag containing the money and fled from the spot firing shots in the air, police said.

On being informed, police rushed to the crime scene to investigate the matter, they said, adding further probe is underway to trace the miscreants.
