Bangalore: Nine-year-old girl run over by BMTC bus
The accident occurred near the Cantonment railway station in the morning. The girl, Shubha Harini, is being treated in Jain hospital in the city after she suffered serious injuries. Her leg is damaged in the accident and doctors say that it may have to be amputated. She may need multiple surgeries to recover.
According to a NDTV report, Shubha, who will turn 10 tomorrow, aspires to be a dancer.
The mishap occurred when Shubha was trying to board a bus, operated by Bangalore Metro Transport Corporation or BMTC, with her elder sister. Her sister managed to board the bus, but Shubha, who was right behind, fell off the bus while trying to climb. The bus sped off, running over her leg.
