Bandh, Christmas Celebrations To Keep Banks Closed for 18 Days in December 2023: Check Holiday List

Come December, people have to plan their bank-related work as there are 18 holidays including bandh for six days.

Notably, the All India Bank Employee Association (AIBEA) has announced a series of nationwide strikes commencing on December 4, with subsequent strike dates scheduled until January 11. These strikes are anticipated to impact numerous banks nationwide, encompassing both government and private institutions.

In addition to it, there are weekly offs, Saturdays along with other holidays including Christmas celebrations.

December 4: Punjab National Bank (PNB), Punjab and Sindh Bank, State Bank of India (SBI)

December 5: Bank of Baroda, Bank of India

December 6: Canara Bank, Central Bank of India

December 7: Indian Bank, UCO Bank

December 8: Union Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra

December 11: All Private Banks

Also, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has identified specific holidays in December, resulting in the closure of banks:1st December 2023 -

December 1: Bank holiday in Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland on the State Inauguration Day.

December 4: Bank holiday in Goa on St. Francis Xavier Festival.

December 12: Bank holiday in Meghalaya on Pa-Togan Nengminja Sangma.

December 13: Bank holiday in Sikkim on Losung/Namsung.

December 14: Bank holiday in Sikkim on Losung/Namsung.

December 18: Bank holiday in Meghalaya on the death anniversary of U Soso Tham.

December 19: Bank holiday in Goa on the occasion of Liberation Day.

December 25: Bank holiday across the country due to Christmas.

December 26: Bank holiday in Mizoram, Nagaland and Meghalaya for Christmas.

December 27: Bank holiday in Nagaland due to Christmas.

December 30: Bank holiday in Meghalaya on the occasion of U Kiang Nangbah.
