This time on the occasion of Bakri Eid, tech-savvy goat traders have tried the online option to do the buying and selling of goats. People are opting for websites like OLX, Quikr, etc which have got famous for selling almost anything.

Traders have put up advertisements on these sites with all the details of the animals on sale and vendors' contact numbers, along with the photographs of the goats.

With just one day left for the festival of Bakri Eid, sale of goats has soared and the prices offered range from Rs 4,000 to Rs 1.5 lakh on the portals.

These portals which are buzzing with activity are expecting the prices of the goats to rise further as the demand for the goats will continue till few hours from the Eid namaaz.

Goats are sacrificed on Bakri Eid as a symbol of Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his only son. The meat from the sacrificed goat is preferred to be divided into three parts. One third of the share to the family, another third is given to relatives, friends and neighbours and the remaining third is given to the poor and needy.
