Chandigarh, Nov 21: The Bains brothers - Simarjit Singh Bains and Balwinder Singh Bains - joined hands with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) here on Monday ahead of the Punjab Assembly polls.
The brothers, who are part of Lok Insaaf Party, were welcomed into AAP in presence of convenor Gurpreet Singh Waraich and Punjab in-charge Sanjay Singh.
Simarjit Singh Bains had earlier told news agency ANI that he was joining hands with AAP to save Punjab from Badals (Shiromani Akali Dal) and the Congress.
As per sources, AAP is not likely to field candidates against the Bains brothers in around 4-5 seats to extend their support to them.
Bains brothers reportedly met AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal before deciding to make this announcement.
Bains brothers were part of Awaaz-e-Punjab, which was floated by cricketer turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu.
The Bains brothers from Ludhiana had then floated an independent party by the name Lok Insaaf Party.
