Family of Badlapur Sexual Assault Case Accused Claims Police Encounter and Demands Investigation

The family of Akshay Shinde, accused in the Badlapur sexual assault case, is demanding justice after he was shot dead by police. They described the incident as an encounter. Shinde was killed near Mumbra Bypass at approximately 6:15 pm on Monday. He allegedly grabbed a policeman's gun while being transported in a police vehicle for an investigation related to a complaint filed by his former wife.

Badlapur Case: Family Seeks Probe into Encounter

After Shinde reportedly shot and injured an Assistant Police Inspector (API), another officer from the escort team fired back, resulting in his death. Doctors at Kalwa Civil Hospital later confirmed his passing. His father, Anna Shinde, has called for an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding his son's death.

Family Alleges Conspiracy

Outside the hospital, Shinde's mother and uncle accused the police and the management of a Badlapur school of conspiring against him. They claimed that Shinde had informed them about being beaten by police while in custody and had sent a note requesting money. They questioned the police's account of events, insisting that he could not have taken a policeman's weapon.

"The police have killed our child. The school management must also be probed," they alleged. They further claimed that the police forced him to write something, though they were unaware of what it was.

Family Questions Police Narrative

Shinde's mother expressed disbelief at the police's version of events, stating, "My son was afraid of bursting crackers and crossing the road. How can he shoot at policemen?" She and other family members insisted that he was not depressed and could not have acted violently.

The family continues to seek answers and justice for what they believe was an unjust killing. They remain adamant that both the police and school management should be thoroughly investigated to uncover any potential wrongdoing.
