Badaun rape case: Police allege honour killing, family fights on
Ironically, instead of looking for other angles in the case, the police officials also bring a 'love-affair-gone-wrong' angle. The family was now left with CBI, but the agency too did not discount the angle.
"Sharvesh (policeman) killed my niece to save Pappu and to implicate us they came up with the story of honour killing. Our girls didnt wear bangles but they planted broken bangles and beer bottles in the eucalyptus forest," said the girls' uncle.
Further emphasizing on the police's involvement in this, the villagers alleged that the incident happened in a mango plantation and the police fraudulantly showed a eucalyptus forest. Villagers said that they had crossed the plantation at night in search of the girls, but nothing was wrong then. But their bodies were found hanging from a tree the next morning.
Meanwhile, the CBI has summoned the family to New Delhi to conduct a narco and lie detector test.
