Badaun: 7-year-old abducted, murdered; locals erupt in protest

Badaun (UP), Jan 20: A trio has been arrested for allegedly abducting and murdering a 7-year-old boy in Chowdhury Sarai area here, even as tension prevailed in the locality after the child's body was recovered.

As per the complaint filed by the victim's father, 7-year-old Usaidul, who was missing since January 16, was abducted and killed by neighbours Joeb, Labbu and Farhan for a ransom of Rs 10 lakhs, police said.

The child's body was recovered yesterday after the trio was apprehended by the police. The accused trio confessed to their crime and stated that they had planned to burn the body to hide the evidence, police said.

Meanwhile, the incident has led to arson in the area, with irate locals setting one of the accused, Joeb's house afire and also attacked the houses of Labbu and Farhan.

The police has deployed extra forces in the area.
